The Card of the Day: Justice (Reversed)
Lady Justice is the archetype of honesty and assertiveness. This is symbolized by the Sword of Truth she grasps. Her goal is to restore balance and harmony, which is illustrated by the scales she holds in her left hand. The tarot's Justice figure is not blindfolded. She sees anything that is out of sync clearly. In her right hand she holds the sword. This represents that assertive action is needed to correct imbalance.
When you observe your life from Lady Justice's perspective, does it appear balanced? What would you honestly need right now to restore harmony? Rest, Alone time? Joy? Are the demands of others consuming most of your energy?
When we are not being honest with ourselves about our needs, imbalance inevitably follows. Life then becomes a drudge that must be "powered through." Justice is here to remind you to be clear with yourself and others about what you need to restore harmony. Be warned however, it may require you to use the word "N-N-N-N-N-N-No!" once in awhile. Establishing healthy boundaries is most effective when we speak dispassionately. Waiting until you are in a rage is not the best time to test your assertiveness skills. The scales of justice asks us to weigh the perspectives of others with our own. Have you actually trained others to expect too much? Do you say yes too much to their demands?
Today, take time to restore your equilibrium. Put yourself first. Be kind and honest with others if there is a difficult conversation that needs to be had. Your inner self will feel jubilant for validating what it's been screaming about all this time! The truth shall set you free!
If you've already been doing the work of establishing healthy boundaries, Lady Justice is here to shout "I'm proud of you!" Keep it up!" She also gently reminds you that boundaries require frequent reinforcement.
When Justice appears reversed, she asks if you if you are truly being honest with yourself about an area that seems to be out of balance. The root cause might be a lack of honesty or clarity concerning the issue confronting you. It takes courage to be honest with yourself. This is especially true when you are attached to a certain outcome. To get things back into harmonious equilibrium you must embrace and accept truth. Your truth can be found in your heart. It is far beneath your anxieties. It resides in a peaceful place, apart from emotion and attachments to outcomes. You know you have found it because there is a release of inner tension when you touch, accept, and embody it. Truth really does have the power to set you free when you feel stuck.
Justice Reversed can also call your attention to what part of your life feels lopsided, or out of balance. Sometime imbalance occurs when we are so focused on one aspect of our lives that we neglect what we really need to feel centered. Today, don't obsessively focus on only one thing. Take a break. Leave your routine to gain clarity and perspective. Ask yourself what part of you feels neglected. Be honest with yourself about what you really need. Be true to yourself. Regain your balance and all will become clear.
